    Alexis Petersen is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Alexis received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. She has served as the University’s President of the Counseling Honors society since the end of her second year at MNU, working to promote advocacy and contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity.

    Alexis is passionate about working with children and adolescents going through life transitions, managing anxiety/depression and other mental health symptoms, interpersonal relationship difficulties, and processing grief/loss. Alexis also values working with individuals desiring to overcome personal challenges and mental health symptoms. Alexis has experience utilizing evidence-based practices such as Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. She believes in the importance of working with her clients to compose integrative therapeutic interventions tailored to meet each client’s needs. Alexis has experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral concerns, interpersonal conflict, grief/loss, life transitions, low self-esteem, Identity issues, and substance abuse.
